Food, Firewood, and Essential Relief for Frontline Villages
During the winter, GCMM delivered food, briquettes, firewood, clothing, and other essential supplies to families in frontline communities in Ukraine.
We also obtained many truckloads of briquettes and firewood, especially for residents of the Kherson and Odesa regions. These areas have limited tree cover. As part of our food assistance, we purchased vegetables from local farmers in Ukraine. In the last quarter alone, we acquired approximately 200 tonnes of root vegetables, potatoes, carrots, onions, and flour for villages in eastern Ukraine.
Prepared food parcels were also delivered to thousands of families with children, including children in orphanages. Over the winter, frontline communities received practical help for daily survival: food, firewood, briquettes, clothing, shoes, woollen socks, and other basic supplies needed to endure the cold and hardship of war.
An unexpected surprise also arrived in March. GCMM delivered 13 tons of pizza donated by a German charity. This was a one-time gift to families with children in frontline villages in Eastern Ukraine. One hundred families lined up to receive food boxes.
Every gift has helped ease the suffering of thousands of people this winter. Thank you.
